Class 6

Miss H Clarey

About me

Hello, my name is Miss Clarey and I have worked at Consett Junior School since qualifying as a teacher in 2021. This year I am so exciting to be teaching in year 5 again and I am lucky enough to be teaching a lovely class who I taught when they were in year 3. I can’t wait to see how much they have grown and spend another year helping them grow even more! On a Wednesday, I spend the day with my little boy Teddie, who is now 2 years old! Therefore, on a Wednesday the class will be taught by Mrs Howe and Mrs Hannant. Supporting us everyday, we have the lovely Mrs Watson and Miss Waters.

As part of my role in school, I am also the PE subject lead. Being so passionate about the subject, I like to make every lesson active so I hope you are ready for the frequent super movers, just dance and brain breaks!

English

Class 5 and Class 6 will work closely together on The Nowhere Emporium, Holes, Bloddon’s Adventure which all are exciting stories which will allow the children to express their greatest levels of creativity and imagination. We are excited to see what amazing pieces of work Class 6 create based on these inspiring texts.

Our weekly spelling test will be held on a Wednesday with Mrs Howe.

Maths

White Rose Maths is the scheme which will form the foundations of our daily maths lessons. Each day we will do a variety of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions. Children will also get the opportunity to secure their fluency knowledge by using White Rose Infinity, and challenge questions will be used to stretch our fast finishers.
