Class 1

Mrs L McMahon

Welcome to Class 1 2026/27.  The Class Teacher is Mrs McMahon and there are 24 pupils in this class.

This class is supported by Miss Oselton who teaches every Tuesday afternoon and Mrs Haney and Miss Marsden, who are our Teaching Assistants.

About Me

My name is Mrs McMahon and I’ve been at Consett Junior School for many years now. I have two children and spend most of my weekends watching them play football and swimming. I also have a cockerpoo called Teddy. When we have free time, I love to visit Durham, Beamish or Gibside. I also love music, especially singing and playing in Orchestras but I don’t get to do that as much now. I like to go and watch musicals at the theatre, one of the things I’m looking forward to this summer is going to see Wicked in London. I have to say, watching the productions that we put on at school is always one of the highlights of my year I’m looking forward to next year. I had a great day meeting all the new children in Class 1 and can’t wait for the year ahead. We have some lovely topics and experiences lined up for the year and I’m looking forward to sharing them with the children.

In English we will start by looking at the Place Value of Grammar, then completing some Autumn Senses poetry just before the half term. After half term we will move onto ‘The Twits’ which we will read and complete work linked to the book.
