Welcome to Class 8. The Class Teacher is Miss Waters and there are 31 pupils in this class. Mrs Hannant and Mrs Gilray support in our class and Miss Hughes and Mr Meadows also teach in this class.
About me
My name is Miss Waters and I am Deputy Headteacher and SENCO at Consett Junior School. I have been a teacher for 14 years now, teaching mainly in Year 6. I love working at Consett Junior School as this is my hometown and I actually came to this school as a child, so I am extremely passionate about ensuring every child achieves their full potential while they are here. On evenings after school I like to swim and play the cornet in Consett Brass Band and Consett Salvation Army Band. I also enjoy spending quality time with friends, family and Nala, my cat.
About Class 8
Class 8 will be working really hard this year as the all-important SATs tests approach but we will also have some good fun along the way!
English
This half term our class will be focusing on the text ‘Wonder’. If any of the children want to get a head start they could watch the film!
Maths
In Maths we are working hard, to improve the speed of our times table recall. We are focusing on problem solving and reasoning in Maths. We still have lots to cover before SATs such as co-ordinates, angles and translation.
