Committees
Finance – (Chair) Responsible for the budget of the school.
Safeguarding and curriculum – (Deputy Chair) Ensuring the development and safety of all pupils, through the curriculum, healthy lifestyles, anti-bullying, SEND, and diversity and Inclusion policies.
First Committee – (Chair) Responsibilities range from complaints procedure policies, staff issues etc to child exclusion.
Pay and Review – Discussion and awarding of any pay increments to Management and staff after receiving head teachers assessments and recommendations.
Science Lead Governor – Consultation with the Lead Science teacher on the development throughout the school and briefed back to full Governors meetings.
I am currently serving as a Sgt at RAF Boulmer in the Apprenticeship Accreditation Centre. Having spent the previous 8 years as an elected Parent Governor (the last 2 as Chair) while my children attended Consett Junior School, I was offered the chance to remain involved with the school as a Community Governor now that they have moved onto Secondary School. Having enjoyed every minute of my time working with the school, I grasped this opportunity to remain involved with the management and staff who work tirelessly to keep it the wonderful environment in which my kids spend their primary education. A real privilege to be involved, I will do my utmost to be involved to work with the school and will pass on all the experience I have accumulated as Chair to any new parents who are elected onto the Governing Body.
