Just wanted to share with our families the goal of a very competitive and committed pupil from our school, who is also one of our strong CJS cross country team runners. Robert L from year 4 has also registered to run the virtual wall this June and the link below shows photographs of his already amazing journey to the end of the Wall. Supported by his family they have also combined this with other aspects of home learning.
They had a history trip yesterday combined with PE as part of the Roberts virtual wall challenge and thought it would be nice to visit parts of Hadrian’s Wall as part of his challenge to do some miles. Cawfields Quarry was there first stop then onto Steel Rig car park and Sycamore gap.
We will update this page with photographs we receive so all of his friends can see his journey on the way to completing his first MEGA ultra!
Go Robert, we are all very proud of you!

*Update on 11th June*
“Robert is currently at 36 miles so about Bardon Mill as we keep saying where he would actually be on the route as he goes.
We did 8 miles on Tuesday up at the Wall and along the route which he enjoyed as you can see below, don’t think he was amused at the second 4 miles we did from Prudhoe to Wylam bridge and back though after the mornings walk / run, once he completes more we will keep you posted on the progress…”
Saturday 20th June – Roberts DONE IT!
“As you know Robert was well on his was to completing his 2020 virtual Rat Race Wall challenge, we thought we would save the last 3.5 miles for yesterday , as it would have been the original race day.
He has loved doing new routes and now knows where we will be this time next year when we complete the run in one day. We did more of the actual route from Hexham, Prudhoe, Wylam and Newcastle on his last day, as you can see below.
Well done to his brother Martin too as he has cycled what Robert has ran.”
