Virtual Sports Day – ‘Beat the Staff’

June 12, 2020 by dawnraine

This year we are going to have a virtual sports day with the theme of ‘Beat the Staff’.

Below is the list of activities which we would love you all to have a go at.  You will see that some of the events are traditional sports day activities, however, some of them are a little more, in fact very silly and will give you the opportunity to get a bit daft with your family (parental participation is a must).
We would like you to take a picture/video of yourself doing each event and email it to consettjunior@durhamlearning.net and for every piece of evidence we receive you will earn a point for your house. (Eg. If you complete and send evidence of 5 activities you will earn 5 points for your house).  We will then combine all of the scores and a house champion will be announced!  Who will get the trophy this year?
You can carry out the activities at any time but our actual sports day is on the Saturday 27th of June so you will only earn points for videos/ pictures sent in on this day.
Here is the fun part- the staff are carrying out these events too.  After sports day we will make a fun compilation video showing some of your best pictures/videos and one of all of the staff’s- it will then be your job to spot if the staff have missed any activities out AND if any staff you know are missing from the video; if they have there is going to be a fun and potentially ‘messy’ forfeit for Mr Dixon!
The sheet below is just for you to help keep track of what you have done and also a way for you to record your results. If you’re feeling competitive you could use it to compare your results with your friends but it does not need to be handed in.
The main point of this is to have lots of fun and create some memories…and obviously to make Mr Dixon do a forfeit- but we’ll not tell him that part.

We cant wait to see all your pictures and videos!
