Back to School Information – Monday 8th March 2021

Firstly, a big welcome back to everyone, it has been too long since we have all been together, thankfully the national picture looks much improved and we are able to fully open again.

Although things have improved, we still have many procedures in place to be COVID safe, these will look familiar to children as they follow the majority of procedures that we had in place in September. We just wanted to remind parents of times and procedures for the onsite return of the children.

Just to reassure everyone our first week or so back will be focused on ensuring the children are well and helping them catch up with friends, allowing them to settle back into school routines.

Staggered start times and alternative entrance:

Year 3 and Year 4

8.45 a.m. Start:
Year 3 – Use the rear gate
Year 4 – Use the main gate

3.05 p.m. – End of Day:
Collected from the main yard – parents to be admitted from the main gate (Gates will open at 3.05 p.m.) – follow the one-way system around the school building. Please where face coverings unless exempt.

Year 5 and Year 6

9.00 a.m. start:

Year 5 – Use the rear gate for entry
Year 6 – Use the main gate for entry

3.20 p.m. – End of Day:
Children from Year 5 will leave from the rear gate, Year 6 from the main gate.
For those parents collecting their children – can they please meet them from outside the school grounds and do not congregate around the gate.

If possible please do not arrive too early for the start or end of the school day, queues should be avoided where possible.

When returning to school, our expectation is that children should wear full uniform, but we understand this might be difficult for some families in the first few weeks if you need to purchase items once shops reopen. Children should come to school dressed for PE on their PE days – this can be found on the timetable on your child’s ‘class page’.

Breakfast club remains open to those who require it, no children will be admitted until 7.45 a.m. so please do not drop them any earlier.

There will be no after school extra curriculum clubs. We do not have the capacity to run clubs while maintaining bubble groups. We also require this time to ensure cleaning procedures are the main focus. If the government road map goes well we will consider this later in the year.
