Covid Cases in School over Easter

April 2, 2021 by dawnraine

Dear families,

First of all, we hope you are enjoying the Easter break, and of course the weather.  Unfortunately, some staff have not been so rested. DfE guidance advised staff to continue to complete the Lateral Flow Tests throughout the holidays.  As a result of this several staff have tested positive for Covid, three of these have been confirmed by a PCR test.  We have completed a risk assessment with PHE and have NOT identified any school members who would need to isolate due to being a contact as symptoms started well after last contact with school, however, as a precaution we have been advised to inform you that we have had four members of staff test positive for Covid either by LFT and/or PCR tests.
Please can all families be vigilant and monitor any symptoms children may present with at home, this is particularly important for Year 6 children, as the majority of staff cases are from this year group.
If you or your children develop symptoms it is very important you follow the guidance.

Please can you also ensure you make us aware of any positive results by emailing consettjunior@durhamlearning.net

Take care and stay safe
