Year 5 Trip to Adventure Sunderland – Things Children Will Need

June 8, 2021 by dawnraine

On Tuesday 15th June (next week) year 5 are going to Adventure Sunderland to take part in some very exciting water-based activities. The actual activities will be dependent on the weather on the day but the options are: paddle boarding, kayaking, raft building, pier jumping and body boarding.

The children will be participating in the activities with their classes; with class 5 spending the morning playing beach games with CJS staff whilst class 6 take part in the water activities. Both classes will then have lunch and swap for the afternoon.

The bus will be leaving school at 8:30 prompt so please can all children be in school for no later than 8:15 so they can be registered. The children will be back at school between 3:50-4pm depending on traffic.

For the day the children MUST bring (they cannot go without these things):

-a swimming costume
-a towel
-a SPARE pair of old trainers that they don’t mind getting wet
-packed lunch (unless pre-ordered from school)
-2 water bottles
-please ensure long hair is tied back

Children do not need to wear their school uniform for this trip but please be mindful of the weather on the day- a hat and sun cream may be beneficial as the children will be spending all of the day outside on the beach. They do not need money, but please pay the £5 contribution on ParentPay.

If your child has asthma or any medicines they need to take please ensure this is brought in with them on the day.

Adventure Sunderland will be providing wetsuits for the water activities.

We are very much looking forward to this trip and giving the children the opportunity to experience some exciting new activities.
