Today the children currently in school in year 6 were the first to try out the equipment in the new outdoor gym today. Staff and children all stated it is a fantastic area and the equipment is amazing! Check out the gallery…
This gym will now be incorporated into our PE curriculum as well as a timetable for use over breaks/lunchtimes (Supervised only).
If you have not yet completed the outdoor gym permission form you will have been sent a text message today. If this permission is not provided children will be unable to use the equipment.
We had a great day on Friday celebrating Wellbeing Day. The day gave the children a chance to socialise and reflect on their mental health and wellbeing focusing on things that they enjoy doing together. We feel that this is vitally important after the year we have all had and have decided to do another Wellbeing Day in January – watch this space for a date!
Last Wednesday the children in Year 6 attended Consett Cenotaph to mark Remembrance Day.ย They were able to watch and be part of a small service where the Last Post was played and the two minute silence held.ย Thank you to the man who played the bagpipes who made us feel very welcome and thanked the children for attending.

We have received a recognition certificate and thank you card from the Suicide Charity ‘IF U Care Share’.
During the academic year 19/20 we raised ยฃ1393.00, on and offline.
This is breathtaking and was only achieved through the support of all our families. Despite Covid and needing to cancel our end of school year fun day event, we still managed to support the charity. Thank you to all those who donated, sponsored events, attended coffee mornings or simply went that extra mile.
I am sure you will agree this funding will be very beneficial for such an amazing charity.
Thank you once again

Thank you to all the children who participated in our virtual sports day, although we recognise that that our actual sports day brings an amazing atmosphere with cheers and chants, this was the best alternative. All the photographs and video evidence we received can enable us to share the experience with you all. It has been so much fun and lovely to see so many families on board.
The video below is a ‘collection’ of some of the pictures and videos emailed to school on Saturday, we would love to see them all but there was at least 300!!!! As well as the AMAZING VIDEO there is also the reveal of the winning house…Well done to…???
CJS team and all the amazing children and families…
